It will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new expansion has been <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/thewitcher\/status\/2059560461872373812?s=20\">announced<\/a> for CD Projekt Red\u2019s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Titled <em>\u201cSongs of the Past,\u201d<\/em> it looks to take players <em>\u201cto the Path with Geralt of Rivia once more,\u201d<\/em> and will release in 2027 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. This new expansion is being co-developed with Polish studio \u201cFool\u2019s Theory\u201d of \u201cThe Thaumaturge\u201d fame, a 2024 RPG which has been well received. Fool\u2019s Theory is also remaking The Witcher 1, and is helping with development on The Witcher 4 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/the-witcher-3-minimum-pc-requirements-change\">(Eurogamer)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not much else is known about Songs of the Past, but CD Projekt promises <em>\u201cmore information in late summer.\u201d<\/em> CD Projekt is also looking to update The Witcher 3\u2019s PC <a href=\"https:\/\/support.cdprojektred.com\/en\/witcher-3\/pc\/sp-technical\/issue\/2973\/upcoming-changes-to-minimum-requirements-for-the-witcher-3-wild-hunt\">system requirements<\/a>: <em>\u201cWith new content coming to the game, we need to update our system requirements to ensure smooth performance and compatibility going forward for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Songs of the Past.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CD Projekt wanted to reveal Songs of the Past during May 28th\u2019s REDstreams, but things did not go as planned: <em>\u201cWe original planned to make this big reveal during our REDstreams tomorrow, but let\u2019s say we found something we didn\u2019t yet expect on RED Launcher.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 The existence of a new The Witcher 3 expansion was a poorly kept secret to begin with. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/the-witcher-3-minimum-pc-requirements-change\">Eurogamer<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=j5G22X8V9IA&amp;t=1821s\">Borys Nie\u015bpielak<\/a> was the first to break the news on the upcoming DLC. When talking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/authors\/robert-purchese\">Robert Purchese<\/a>, he explained that the <em>\u201cinformation was verified by several independent sources.\u201d <\/em>Reputable industry insider <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/NateTheHate2\/status\/2028165635331457259?s=20\">NateTheHate<\/a> would later state that the expansion does exist, adding credibility to Nie\u015bpielak\u2019s claims.&nbsp;While nothing beyond its name is known, it is fair to speculate that Songs of the Past will bridge the gap between The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and The Witcher 4.
