One of the studio\u2019s statements reads: <em>\u201cWe do not see AI as a substitute for human work, and we are currently looking to expand the company, including our translation team.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mention of a translation team is important, as it was only a month ago that former Czech to English Warhorse Studios translator Max H <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/kingdomcome\/comments\/1s5vgt9\/other_fired_from_warhorse_studios_and_replaced\/\">claimed<\/a> he was fired in an effort to <em>\u201cmake the company more effective\u201d<\/em> and<em> \u201csave finances.\u201d<\/em> He was allegedly told his position would become obsolete in favor of using AI for all translations going forward.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its AMA Reddit thread, Warhorse Studio directly addressed this specific matter when answering Reddit user Very_Human_42069\u2019s question, which reads: <em>\u201cWhy did you fire an employee that played such a crucial part of bringing this game to the English-speaking world, and why do you plan on using AI going forward?\u201d<\/em> A Warhorse spokesperson answered by explaining that the story <em>\u201ctouches on HR matters\u201d<\/em> and that no comments about past or present employees can be made, as it would be <em>\u201cdeeply unprofessional.\u201d<\/em> They continued: <em>\u201cWhat I can say is that we are currently in the process of hiring new English translators. What the studio does not want, however, is the presence of AI-generated content in its finished games, with \u201cno plans to change this in the future.\u201d This story echoes the backlash Larian Studios faced at the end of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December of last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/jasonschreier.bsky.social\/post\/3ma5dqbmgm22o\">Jason Schreier<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/newsletters\/2025-12-16\/-baldur-s-gate-3-maker-promises-divinity-will-be-next-level?accessToken=eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiIsInR5cCI6IkpXVCJ9.eyJzb3VyY2UiOiJTdWJzY3JpYmVyR2lmdGVkQXJ0aWNsZSIsImlhdCI6MTc2NTkyODY1NCwiZXhwIjoxNzY2NTMzNDU0LCJhcnRpY2xlSWQiOiJUN0Q4ODFLSVAzSTkwMCIsImJjb25uZWN0SWQiOiJCMUVBQkI5NjQ2QUM0REZFQTJBRkI4MjI1MzgyQTJFQSJ9.pvH0NL4g3Yr91moGGfB0bgvg4XRABiySo6QtxQuiO-4\">Bloomberg<\/a> interviewed Swen Vincke, Larian Studios CEO, following the reveal of its next game \u201cDivinity,\u201d at The Game Awards. In that interview, Vincke <a href=\"https:\/\/www.videogameschronicle.com\/news\/holy-f-guys-were-not-replacing-artists-larian-boss-responds-to-ai-backlash\/\">confirmed<\/a> the studio uses AI to \u201cexplore ideas,\u201d but he made it clear that no AI-generated content would make it to the final game. This statement caused quite the stir on X, which pushed Warhorse Studios co-founder <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DanielVavra\/status\/2001337278229279169\">Daniel V\u00e1vra<\/a> to defend Vincke\u2019s stance on the use of AI in game development: \u201cI\u2019m no fan of generated art, but anyway, it\u2019s time to face reality.
